"See Rock City" is a slogan that is synonymous with southern highways. Most of the 900+ barns were painted by a man named Clark Byers between 1935 and 1969, and while many have been painted over or fallen down, plenty can still be found. The one shown here surrounded by cotton fields, was inspired by one I passed on a rural highway in north Georgia.
